I’m so sorry I didn’t write earlier, but as we may all know our project took a whole bunch of time to finish and in the last night in Ramsgate our internet access didn’t work…
But yeah, now to Saturday, the 20th of march.
we had the morning free, so everyone could decide what to do, whether to go have a walk through the town center or the beach or just to have one day to sleep longer.
We decided to have a walk on the beach. So Pia, Stephan, Dronca, Moritz and I we walked and walked and walked. It may sound really boring but it wasn’t at all. We loved it, we had a great weather and walking near to the sea was just wonderful. We walked till we reached the white/west cliffs, and then we returned.
In the Afternoon we had Canterbury on our timetables. We met at 2 pm, and it took us about 45 min to get to our destination. First of all we visited the Canterbury Cathedral, which was beautiful. We had the pleasure to enjoy walking inside the church with the singing of a coral. We learned a lot of the history of the Church in England, and how the King Henry II was misunderstood and his knights killed the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket. And then how Henry VIII let destroy his tomb, because he had founded the Church of England and didn’t want nothing that was from the Catholic Church.
Afterward we had 3 hours of spare time to spend in Canterbury, which actually have a lot of shops, though the most of us didn’t know how much time we’d have, no one really shopped.
I just went to Starbucks with Philipp, Florian, Moritz, Stephan and Pia, and I had a Caramel Frappucino, yummy, I love it!
In the night we had a freaking scary ghost tour through Canterbury xD joking, we had a ghost tour, but it wasn’t scary at all, I guess it was rather ridiculous… No one really liked it.
We returned at 11 pm.
Sunday the 21st of march:
Sunday was on my opinion the Best Day of the Week!
resuming the day in one word: LONDON!
We leaved Ramsgate at about 8.30 am. It took us 2 hours to arrive in London, we disembarked near to the Waterloo Station and walked strait to the London Eye. As we arrived there we could already see it, the Big Ben with the Houses of Parliament, where the house of Commons and the house of Lords have their sessions. It took us a long time to go to the Westminster Abbey, but not because it was so far away, no, just because we just wanted to take pictures over pictures (mainly our friend Jessna, right
)
From Westminster we walked the Parliament street until the Horse Guards, with a quick look to the Downing Street 10, where the prime minister, Gordon Brown lives. Max was the only one of us who had the courage to touch the horses, after Oz told us they could kick or bite
From the horse guards we entered St. James Park and had a 10 min break to eat something or watch the squirrels. After the break we went on to the Buckingham Palace, where there was the changing of guards, though we could just see the “new” guards and the military band arriving through The Mall. We walked the same street but on the opposite direction to Trafalgar Square, one of the most visited squares in the world. Leaving the square with the column of Admiral Nelson behind us we went to the Covent Garden, our meet point.
We then had 6 hours time to go shopping or eat something or do whatever we wanted to. Oxford st. was waiting for us to come!
A please to all our classmates, write what you’ve done as a comment, so we can have a good idea of what people did! thank you.
at 6.30 pm we left London to arrive at about 8.30/9 pm in Ramsgate.
