Already on thursday night we had this “meeting/party” kinda thing in the Churchill Tavern. some good hours we spent there doing nothing…
Afterwards we, thats saying, Pia, Conny, Mo and I, we accompanied Anna home, cuz she wasn’t sure how to return
At 23 pm Mo and me, we finally arrived home to go to sleep.
Friday, the 19th of march:
Friday we had our first “real” day in England, we were split in two groups, Group A with classwork in the morning and Group B with fieldwork in the morning.
At 9 am John showed us a presentation about Ramsgate and afterwards people with fieldwork in the morning left the school to go explore the city.
The classwork group had their first surprise. Cuz as it seemed to be we weren’t doing anything for the final presentation during the time in class, Alexia, our teacher was just trying to explain what was the purpose of our visit and how to present something in a good way. We eventually had to make a small presentation on subjects we’ve listed before.
At 12.05, we had lunch and at 2 pm fieldwork started for Group A whereas Group B had Classwork. I was in group A, so we had fieldwork, and since everyone went their way I can only tell you my story.
Pia, Mo and me, we first structured our questionnaire and what exactly we wanted to ask the people. Then after some relaxing time, we headed out to our first cafe shop, caffe nero in the High Street. In our way we met Dronca and Stephan. They came with us, and once being at the cafe we ordered. A cafe americano, which would be like the Wiener Melange as we discovered.
After giving the place a rate, we searched our first “victims”, a couple. They were really nice and friendly and answered our questions in a really detailed way. It was fun!
In the evening we went to Canterbury to watch the “Pajama Game”, which had a pretty good soundtrack, and the acting was really convincing, even though one actor was really ridiculous. All in all the musical was pretty good, though it was really long, as our Mr. Gruber may know
That’s it for today
See you fellows tomorrow at 9.
